Power Electric is a Utah S-Corporation, wholly-owned by Joe Gormally. Joe formulated the original business plan and developed the detail planning required to open and operate a successful new company. Joe has acted as President and Operations Manager of Power Electric since its inception in May, 1992. Since that time, Joe and his staff have successfully managed and completed a large variety of projects, including substations from 6 MVA to 80MVA with voltages from 46KV to 138KV.

They have also handled high voltage (15KV) underground power distribution by installing duct banks, manholes, switches, and transformers for the University of Utah, Weber State, USAF, and U.S. Navy. Airport lighting and landing aids in three states for several cities, counties, and the FAA have also used their services. Power Electric has helped install traffic signals, VMS information boards, and high mast roadway lighting in three states for UDOT, CDOT, and WYDOT.

We installed 9 1/2 miles of Fiber Optic backbone to interconnect traffic signals for UDOT. Several of these projects were fast track with tight schedules, involving weekend power cutouts and airport traffic coordination. We have worked nights, weekends, holidays, winter, and summer to meet the job requirements.
